What’s better than any TV Cooking show out there? “Estômago”, the Brazilian film about sex, power and food playing at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt this Friday in Berlin.
The highpoint of our weekend was the documentary film Beyond Ipanema – Brazilian Waves in Global Music. The title says it all: Guto Barra’s and Béco Dranoff’s documentary explores the on-going influence that Brazilian music has on the sounds and trends of international youth culture.
Berlin’s “Haus der Kuturen der Welt” kicked off the program “Première Brasil”, an exciting series of films curated by the director of the “Festival do Rio”, Ilda Santiago. Not only are these good films, but we also don’t get a chance to see films like these very often. Latin America is woefully underrepresented in German
