     |    Monday July 9th, 2012

To celebrate the 156th birthday of pioneering physicist Nikola Tesla (1856 -1943), Michael Krause, director of the exhaustive Tesla documentary ALL ABOUT TESLA -THE RESEARCH, will premiere the new, reloaded version of the film on Tuesday, July 10, 8 p.m. at Berlin’s orangelab (Ernst-Reuter-Platz 2). Markus Schuchardt of the Technical University Berlin will offer a presentation on Tesla’s work. Electronic musician and fellow Tesla admirer noto (aka Alva Noto or Carsten Nicolai) will provide musical accompaniment.

Among Tesla’s influential innovations number the alternate (AC) electrical power current and the use of radiowaves for wireless communications. His life’s work was devoted to tapping into and harnessing cosmic energies for human progress. these achievements, along with Tesla’s intriguing biography continue to capture imaginations to this day – he was born to Serbian parents in Croatia (then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire), emigrating to the U.S.when he experienced great success before slipping into obscurity. Krause’s films, lectures and publications on Tesla and his tremendous significance for the industrial age have contributed to a new appreciation.
