Greenpeace Climate Change Study

     |    Thursday July 8th, 2010

Wal-Mart, Auchan, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) are amongst those international companies who are fueling climate change. This was the result of a just published study done by Greenpeace. These global corporations are also pushing the Sumatra tiger and the orangutan to the brink of extinction. The reason: they use and sell paper products made from wood that has been stripped from Indonesian rain forests. Behind the deforestation in Indonesia is the industrial giant, Sinar Mas. This company clear cuts gigantic patches of rain forest so it can plant palm trees. These trees produce the oil used to make palm oil. Palm oil is also used to make so-called biodiesel, or fuel made with vegetable oils. Read more about it at Greepeace
