Shadows of trees

There are at least four independent electric companies in Germany who deal exclusively in clean, renewable energy: Greenpeace Energy, the Elektrizitätswerke Schönau as well as Naturstrom and Lichtblick. Take your pick and change now! The more demand for clean energy, the cheaper it will become. It makes sense to put your money into clean, renewable energy and not into radioactive time bombs. We’ve had enough hardship made by human hands.

The Elektrizitätswerke Schönau is a particularly interesting as an option for anyone who wants to promote decentralized energy capacity. This innovative company began as citizen’s initiative in the Black Forest area of Germany.  When it was time for the town’s large conventional energy company to have their provider license renewed, a group of everyday citizens saw a chance to take over the provider license and put energy delivery into the hands of everyday citizens. It took a fight, a public referendum and a nationwide campaign to come up with the cash, but they did it. Now that company offers green energy exclusively!
