Berlin Diary: How To Copy Right

     |    Wednesday, der 22. September 2010

The artist Kripoe paints his trademark clenched fist onto a sign in the middle of the Spree River in Berlin (how did he get up there?) and puts a copyright symbol next to it. It’s 2003. But sometime in 2004 he thinks: ‘this copyright stuff sucks’.

He paddles back to the sign, whips out a spray can and slashes out his own copyright mark. Then he paints a new, copyright-free clenched fist to finish the masterpiece.
